Accessible monuments

Málaga province's important monumental legacy has been adapted for people with disabilities. Such emblematic monuments as the Gibralfaro Castle, the Málaga Alcazaba or the Cathedral are accessible to all. You will not encounter any obstacles to visiting monuments in other parts of the province either. Two examples are the Nerja Caves and the Ronda Bullring.

Accessible museums

You will have no problems visiting and exploring the Costa del Sol´s museums as practically all of them are accessible. The Picasso Museum, the Carmen Thyssen Museum, the Pompidou Centre and the Centre for Contemporary Art, all in Málaga, are accessible for people with disabilities. There are also accessible museums in other parts of the province, such as the Antequera City Museum.

Accessible beaches on the Costa del Sol

The majority of the Costa del Sol's beaches are equipped and adapted to the needs of those with limited mobility. Examples of accessible beaches include La Malagueta, Pedregalejo and La Misericordia, in Málaga capital; La Carihuela, in Torremolinos; La Bajadilla and El Cable, in Marbella; Burriana, in Nerja; Sabinillas, in Manilva; and Benagalbón in Rincón de la Victoria.  In Fuengirola you can easily reach Las Gaviotas beach, which was also the first accessible beach in Andalucía. There is nothing to stop you enjoying a day on the beach. All of the ones mentioned above have ramps, amphibious chairs, support staff and everything else you may need.

Accessible villages: Frigiliana

Frigiliana is considered to be one of the most beautiful villages in Spain. In addition, as the result of a project developed by Sign Language Interpretation students, this town is now even more accessible. There are no barriers to stop blind, deaf and deaf-blind people from enjoying Frigiliana.

Ronda is another town that has made a great effort in recent years in terms of accessibility. Ronda old town is classified as an Asset of Cultural Interest. The Puente Viejo bridge, the Bullfighting Museum and the Bodega Doña Felisa are just some of the accessible places you can visit in Ronda.

Accessible leisure activities

The Costa de Sol has an extremely varied range of leisure activities on offer, and an equally varied range of infrastructures adapted for visitors who face accessibility problems. Sports infrastructures like La Rosaleda stadium and the Martín Carpena Arena, cinemas, leisure parks such as Bioparc Fuengirola and shopping centres are all fully accessible.

Accessible natural spaces

Nature lovers can also enjoy the Costa del Sol's natural spaces. The Torcal de Antequera and the Fuente de Piedra Lagoon both have accessible routes for people with disabilities. You can also find accessible paths in the mountain ranges of Montes de Málaga, Sierra de Grazalema, Sierra de las Nieves and Sierras de Tejeda, Almijara and Alhama.
