By air

There are more than 60 airlines operating from the Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport that, on a daily basis, provide connections with 20 Spanish cities and more than 100 cities throughout Europe, North Africa, the Middle East and North America.  The Airport is ranked fourth in terms of traffic volume amongst Spanish airports and is located only 7 kilometres from the centre of Málaga.

Connections to Málaga from other countries

If you are coming from the United Kingdom, approximately three hours on a plane is all that separate you from Málaga....

Connections to Málaga from other countries

If you are coming from the United Kingdom, approximately three hours on a plane is all that separate you from Málaga. The are 24 flights providing connections with various cities, such as London, Manchester, Liverpool, Bristol, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

A flight of approximately three hours is also the time required when flying from Germany. The Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport boasts 19 flights connecting with German cities such as Berlin, Cologne, Dusseldorf, Hamburg and Munich.

If you are travelling from France, coming by air also proves particularly easy as there are 14 flights connecting with this country. Bordeaux , Lyon, Marseille, Paris and Toulouse number amongst the French cities from which you can fly to the Costa del Sol in only two hours.

Moreover, there are also flights providing links to the majority of European capitals, such as Brussels, Amsterdam, Rome, Vienna, Prague, Copenhagen and Moscow, amongst others.

Andalusia's main airport

The Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport has recently opened a modern air terminal that is able to accommodate 35 million passengers per year. It accounts for approximately 85% of all international traffic in Andalusia and its installations are used by more than 10,000 international flights each year. All of this places it as the main port of entry for tourism, not only to the Costa del Sol, but also Andalusia as a whole.

It accessibility bears mention, as it has connections to the motorway network and a continuous commuter train service communicating with the capital and reaching as far as Fuengirola. There is also a local bus service, with buses leaving every 10 minutes, and direct buses to Marbella several times a day, along with an extensive fleet of taxis.
