The municipality of Estepona lies in the western part of the province of Málaga very close to the border of Cádiz. Over it tower the spectacular Bermeja Mountains, the home of the Los Reales de Sierra Bermeja Nature Park with its famous forest of Spanish firs and its distinctive reddish soil caused by the abundance of minerals rich in iron oxide.
This burgh preserves an interesting and well-tended historic old quarter and has all the tourism resources inherent in a rapidly growing coastal locality, and also boasts two facilities that set it apart from the rest of the towns in Málaga. One of them is the
Escuela de Arte Ecuestre Costa del Sol (Costa del Sol Equestrian Arts School).
The particular attention that Andalusia has always paid to horses is obvious in the activities carried out at the
Costa del Sol Equestrian Arts School (Kilometre 159 on National Highway 340). Its primary objective is fostering equestrian sports and training professionals and experts in the world of horses but at the same time it also organises colourful horse shows and trail rides through surroundings of great natural beauty.

Among other facilities all built in perfect harmony with the environment this centre has a large covered riding school measuring 64 by 24 metres and bleachers with room for more than 1,200 spectators, a 7,000 square metre competition arena, two tracks for training colts, a stable area with 142 stalls, a store, tack shop and leatherworking shop, a restaurant, a tent for celebrations and countless other services of all types that make this facility the ideal place not only for horse enthusiasts but also for anyone interested in experiencing nature, equestrian sports or beautiful horse shows. The traditional Andalusian design of all the installations conveys upon the architectural complex an elegant and attractive harmony of lines very much in keeping with everything relating to the world of horses. This equestrian centre’s offer thoroughly satisfies any demand, whether pertaining to entertainment or training.
The Costa del Sol Equestrian Arts School is 5 kilometres from Estepona, 20 from Marbella and 75 from Málaga. For information of all kinds interested parties may call 952 80 80 77.
