Naturism
The next naturist beach, still continuing east on the N-340, is that of Benalnatura in Torrequebrada (Benalmádena). This is a partially developed beach approximately 200 metres in length. It generally has moderate waves and a medium occupancy rate. It is equipped with a car park, beach bar, showers, restrooms, a picnic area with dining tables in a wooded area, a beach-cleaning service and rubbish bins. It should be noted that the zone is cared for and guarded by the Benalnatura naturist association.

How to get there. On the N-340 highway from Málaga to Fuengirola, after passing El Casino de Torrequebrada and just as you come out of the two curves after that, there is a roundabout. Some 50 metres ahead on the right is the entrance to the beach, with a small sign marking it. There is a car park on the upper part of the beach.

Within the municipal boundaries of Málaga and a very few kilometres from the capital is the Guadalmar Beach, adjoining the neighbourhood of San Julián. This is an extensive 3.5 kilometre-long partially developed beach with broad sands. It lies between the mouth of the River Guadalhorce and a golf course, near the Guadalmar housing estate, and despite being so close to the city its average occupancy rate is only medium. It does, however, have seasonal beach bars, showers, telephones, a cleaning service and rubbish bins. The nudist zone is properly marked.

How to get there. If you are coming from Málaga towards Torremolinos on the N-340 take the San Julián-Guadalmar turning at Km. 232. From that point, on a highway that runs parallel to the expressway, you will arrive at the car parks next to the beach. As this area is close to Málaga, you can also take the city bus (Route 10).

You must go to the eastern Málaga coast in order to find the next naturist beach, Almayate-Bajamar, which is next to Torre del Mar in the municipal territory of Vélez-Málaga. This large sandy area with a length of 3,350 metres remains undeveloped. It slopes sharply downward at the water’s edge, so one is quickly in deep water. It generally has a low occupancy rate and moderate waves. The curious thing about this beach is not its physical characteristics but the arbitrary way it is divided into nudist and textile zones. Sometimes the space reserved for these bathers is quite small while at other times the boundary signs are all the way to the mouth of the River Vélez, which in practice means the more than three kilometres of beach referred to above. There are dustbins and a cleaning service.

How to get there. Take the turning from the Mediterranean Expressway for Torre del Mar right at the El Ingenio shopping centre and get onto the N-340 in the direction of Málaga. You will get to the beach in about a minute. A sign at the entrance advises that this is an authorised nudist area.

Cala del Pino is in Maro near Nerja. As it is located in the Acantilados de Maro-Cerro Gordo Natural Park, it is a completely untouched area. It has thick-grained sand strewn with pebbles and its waves are moderately high. It measures 350 metres in length and has dustbins and a cleaning service. This beach’s natural scenery makes it worth the slight exertion necessary to enjoy it, and nudists and “textiles” are at perfect ease mingling here.

How to get there. Once you have passed Maro on the N-340, you will see a sign right on the highway that says “Torre del Pino”. You can leave your car at this point and take the road that goes down towards the beach. You can cover the distance from the highway to the beach in about five minutes.
