Easter Week in Malaga 2018: Ash Wednesday

Ash Wednesday is a synonym of tradition. In fact, some of the traditions that have made Holy Week in Málaga famous happen on that day. All in one day, the cofradías' (Brotherhoods) that head for the streets are the oldest in the city, Blood, and also the last one to join the association, the Brotherhood of the Mediatrix of Salvation.
Seven brotherhoods have their procession on that day:
Mediatrix: Leaving at 4:15pm from the Parish Church of 'Santa María de la Encarnación' (Las Delicias neighbourhood - Ave María).
Salesians: Leaving at 4pm from the Santuario of 'María Auxiliadora' (Barrio de capuchinos).
Royal Merged: Leaving at 5:15pm from the Parish Church of 'San Juan Bautista' (City centre).
Dove: Leaving at 7pm from the Chapel of 'María Santísima de la Paloma' (City centre).
The Rich: Leaving at 6:45pm from the Parish Church of 'Santiago Apóstol' (City centre).
Blood: Leaving at 8pm from the Parish Church of 'San Felipe Neri' (Barrio de capuchinos - Molinillo).
Expiration: Leaving at 11:30pm from the Parish Church of 'Apóstol San Pedro' (Perchel neighbourhood).
