Full moon festival
Every summer since 2012, Manilva has celebrated a unique festival which coincides with the full moon of July or August, when the moon is at its most brilliant. During the celebration, the people of the town come dressed in white and gather on Sabinillas beach, merging with the meticulous decoration based on white tones and with beautiful lighting from candles and torches.
During the festival, there are a range of activities including fire juggling, shadow theatre, acrobatics, chill out music and activities for children. One of the most highly anticipated moments is when candles and balloons carrying wishes are released, illuminating the sea and turning the scene into something magical.
