Connect with nature: inland Costa del Sol
The areas of natural beauty in Málaga province are an excellent choice if you are looking for a little time away from it all. You’ll find stunning landscapes in the 28 protected natural spaces, including the mountain ranges of Sierra de Grazalema, the Montes de Málaga Natural Park and Sierra de las Nieves, and the Los Gaitanes Gorge and the Torcal de Antequera, two of the most remarkable areas of natural beauty in Málaga.
A trip to some of the Costa del Sol's inland villages is a chance to disconnect and discover a unique popular culture and a wealth of traditions. Villages like Casares and Ojen, with typical white houses, date back to Arab times. Ojen is set deep in the mountains of the Sierra de las Nieves, which is also a Biosphere Reserve.
The Serranía de Ronda mountain range is another of the most intriguing places to unwind in Málaga province. In the past, this was the domain of bandits and brigands and the many colourful legends make it a tempting refuge.
Take a break on the Costa del Sol's beaches
Relaxing to the gentle sound of waves is a sheer delight. The beaches of Maro in Nerja, nestling amongst the cliffs of the Maro – Cerro Gordo area of natural beauty, are the ideal setting for that much needed break. Here, where land meets sea, nature has given us a spectacular cliff landscape.
Another perfect beach to unwind is Cabopino in Marbella, a large beach set in protected surroundings. Close by, you will also find one of the largest camping areas on the Costa del Sol.
Health resorts and Arabic baths: designed for rest and relaxation
