To Navachica from Fuente del Esparto
You'll be hiking along 18km (one way) over difficult terrain to reach the Navachica mountaintop -1,932m above sea level, in the Sierra Almijara-, but it's worth the effort.
The mountaintop trail starts in Fuente del Esparto, Nerja. You'll park the car in the middle of a ravine that gets narrower right ahead and turns into a trail that keeps gaining altitude for 1,000m and then it becomes a flat path on the side of the gorge.
The riverbed starts descending after surrounding a crag that blocks it partially. You'll find the entrance to a mine. In the following stage, you must take the path to your left and walk some 300m until you reach a fork. Make a right.
Walking along this path, you'll reach a couple of high steps, some 2 or 3m high. From here, you'll be climbing on a steep trail on the right and you'll be able to see the top of the Navachica.
