Mirador de la Camorra - Provincia de Málaga y su Costa del Sol

Scenic Viewpoint of the Camorra mountain

Share

This viewpoint is located at the highest point of the town of Alameda, at an altitude of 686 metres. The site offers a panorama of four provinces of Andalusia: Seville, Córdoba, Málaga and Granada. The viewpoint can be reached by following Calle Cañada, crossing the Camorrillo Park and taking a two-kilometre paved road (passable by car). A cross stands atop the hill; this has become a place for offerings and the pilgrimages made as part of religious festivals held in May. The most striking element of the viewpoint is the balcony overlooking Alameda. The current cross, made of iron, was erected in 1963 to replace a wooden one built in 1937, which was burned down by a lightning bolt. One of the most interesting views is of the Laguna de la Ratosa lake, a protected nature reserve. Visitors can also enjoy the landscapes over the Genil and Torcal de Antequera.
