Ecomuseo Astilleros Nereo
Ecomuseo Astilleros Nereo is an historic shipyard strategically located in the Pedregalejo beaches in Málaga city. It is one of the few places left where local traditional ships like the "barca de Jábega" are built and repair, keeping alive the Carpinteria de Ribera (Off-shore marine carpentry), officially declared as an Intangible Cultural Heritage activity.
It is an alive museum that also promotes the important Phoenician legacy and Malaga"s marine traditions. Two important historic proyects are actually taking place; the construction of the brig "Galveztown" and the phoenician pecio "Mazarrón II". A whole range of cultural and educative activities are offered and are designed to suit all ages, boat trips are also offered in traditional boats.
