Bodega Descalzos Viejos

Bodega Descalzos Viejos

Share

Located in the municipality of Ronda, Bodega Descalzos Viejos is nestled in beautiful nature.

In 1998, the Retameto and Salesi families bought the Convent, which was built in 1505 by the Trinitarian Order, and transformed it into what it is today: a winery.

Bodega Descalzos Viejos is named after the oldest Trinitarians who stayed in the convent after it was damaged by earthquakes and damp.

The winery comprises a main building, agricultural land, ponds and various springs, as well as gardens with fruit trees.

Sitting at 650m altitude, the vines extend over 6 hectares of the lower part of the estate.

In addition to featuring wine from Descalzos viejos, the winery also has wine from Finca Haza del Batán, at 600m altitude close to the river Guadalevin, and Finca Huerto del Mellizo, close to the village of La Cimada.
