The Costa del Sol's beaches are the perfect places to relax and enjoy the fantastic weather and sea breezes. They also offer some serious fun in your free time. If you study Spanish in Málaga, or any of the coastal villages, you will find lively beaches where you can enjoy Mediterranean cuisine and all types of seaside activities.
Sun and sand in Málaga city
Málaga is famous for its urban beaches, which all offer a full range of services. La Malagueta is one of the most popular beaches, being right beside the city's old quarter. This beach is a meeting point for the many foreign students who come to Málaga to learn Spanish and enjoy the great weather.
The beaches of Pedregalejo and El Palo, to the east of the city, are also visited by students. There are several Spanish language schools in this area. If you prefer somewhere quieter, then we would recommend the Peñón del Cuervo beach or the charming Baños del Carmen, which offers a beautiful panoramic view of the city.
Beaches on the Costa del Sol: from Nerja to Manilva
The eastern area of the province extends from Málaga to Nerja. Coves and cliffs dominate the stunning landscapes along this part of the coast. The beaches in villages like Rincón de la Victoria have a unique charm, whilst Torrox boasts the best climate in Europe. In Nerja you can enjoy the beaches of Maro, situated in the Maro-Cerro Gordo Cliffs Area of Natural Beauty.
The western Costa de Sol runs from Málaga to Manilva, passing through Torremolinos, Benalmádena, Fuengirola and Marbella. All these cities offer a wide variety of leisure activities, many of which are beach-based.
