Hiking and Walking in Jimera de Líbar The surroundings of Jimera de Líbar are especially ideal for trail walking, since the Guadiaro valley insures superb scenery throughout the journey. Moreover, in this municipality you can take advantage of the old Cañada Real (Royal Drovers’ Road), which runs for a long stretch parallel to the River Guadiaro and to the ancient Roman highway, to discover some secluded and spectacularly beautiful spots. The Town Hall recommends five different walking tours, four of them are easy and 1 to 3 kilometres long, reaching Cuesta del Corralón, la Vereda de Las Trochas, la Vereda del Tesoro and la Cañada Olivar. The fifth tour is quite strenuous and takes hikers to Vereda El Helechal. Besides, visitors can just walk around while enjoying an unrivalled natural setting. Near the village lies Las Aretezuelas, a crystal clear water spring that flows into the Guadiaro river; Cueva del Chapi, featuring a natural water spring that feels great in the summer; El Cancho, a rock overlooking the village that affords breathtaking views; or La Dehesa, a municipal country estate peppered with centuries-old trees.
