Hiking and Walking in Sayalonga While it is true that in Sayalonga there are none of those "unique landscapes" that tourist guides sometimes rather too easily encounter at every hand, there are at least two very interesting routes for devotees of hiking or trail walking. One of them goes around the La Rábita hill. To travel this route you must go down to the Lomas de Méndez hills, and from there, up to the top of La Rábita, from which you can see a splendid panorama of the coast of La Axarquía. The other route is the one that starts right in the middle of town and, following the river part of the way, leads to Corumbela. A third itinerary, the archaeological route, might be added to these two. It passes by such extremely interesting sites as Batahiz, where an Arabic cistern is preserved, and the Piedra de los Metales (Stone of the Méndez Metals) from Méndez.
