Botanical Garden of Cacti and other Succulents “Mora I Bravard”
The Botanical Garden of Casarabonela is situated on the outskirts of the Natural Park “Sierra de las Nieves” at an altitude of 375m above sea level, which endows it with a suitable climate throughout the year for the exhibition and maintenance of the succulent plants exhibited. Sierra de las Nieves, declared reserve of the Biosphere, is a real natural paradise just a step away from the Costa del Sol, close to cities such as Málaga, Marbella and other tourist resorts.
The garden hosts one of the best collections in Europe, which includes, not only cacti, but also other succulent plants which have developed similar morphological characteristics such as tissue water accumulation, spines, leaf surface reduction, etc
The garden contains approximately 11.000 plants belonging to 45 botanical families and about 2.500 different species. Throughout the year you can find plants in bloom due to the sequential flowering of the different species.
