Playa de Calahonda - Provincia de Málaga y su Costa del Sol

Calahonda Beach

Nerja, 29780
Share

Calahonda beach in Nerja is located in the centre of this Malaga town, near the Paseo del Balcon de Europa and bordering Chorrillo Creek. Considered one of the most famous and photographed beaches, it has been captured in countless postcards of Nerja.

Its access is quite easy and is done by a corridor to the left of the arches of the Balcony of Europe, known as the Boquete de Calahonda, built with several sections of small and suitable steps for most people.

A beach where local fishermen can easily be seen casting their nets, although these are lesser each time. Old houses or warehouses built next to the rocks, with white walls and blue doors give this beach a special charm.

If you walk along the coast, you'll find small bays until you reach the Carabeo beach.

Calahonda has an area of 120 meters long and a composition of dark sand and gravel. Here lies the Paseo de los Carabineros that leads to the famous beach of Burriana.

Furthermore, this beach has been awarded the Blue Flag, a distinction awarded by the European Foundation for Environmental Education.
