La Butibamba Beach - La Cala
Butibamba beach belongs to the municipality Mijas, also known as La Cala for its proximity to Cala del Moral stream, this beach has an area of 1,300 meters long and 20 meters of average width. It is characterized by moderate waves and medium grain black sand, in addition to hosting some rocky area.
The overlying waters are usually calm and generally have a high degree of occupation. Butibamba Beach also has a lively nightlife during weekends and in summer, it becomes the place for several musical events.
In its surroundings, there is a Museum of Torres Vigías (watchtowers), which is also the headquarters of the Tourist Office of La Cala.
The Blue Flag award in 2019 makes it a beach of unquestionable quality. This award meets four criteria: environmental education and information, water quality, environmental management, safety and services.
