Aljibe de Mazmúllar

Aljibe de Mazmúllar

Share

Aljibe de Mazmullar is an Arab water tank dating back to the 12th century. It was discovered by accident when a holm oak was uprooted.

The rectangular structure is made of red clay (intended to be waterproof) and has nine different spaces divided by twelves arches, four cruciform tanks and large vaults that can hold up to 120,000 litres of water.

In 1931, the water tank was declared a National Artistic Treasure.

You can also visit a tower that existed before the tank and a tomb carved into the rock face.
