Malaga is modern, cosmopolitan and responsible. This is also translated into the use of more environmentally friendly means of transport adapted to the times.
If you want to discover Malaga from another perspective, we invite you to do so by bicycle, as you will find cycle ways in the capital of the Costa del Sol and throughout the province to ride along and enjoy our monuments and landscapes.
Over the next three years, the city of Malaga will have 68.58 kilometres of cycle ways in addition to its current thirty kilometres to go cycling.
There are 600 parking points in the city and 400 bicycles available for bicycle lovers or for those who prefer to get around Malaga by bicycle.
The city of Malaga will have four routes: 'Malaga Centre', which will link the capital’s cycle ways; 'Malaga Metro', a cycle way following the local train lines 1 and 2; 'Malaga West', which will join the western part of the city to the centre and the university, and 'Malaga East', which will run along the eastern part.
In a few years time, there will be cycle ways to connect the metropolitan area of the eight Andalusian capitals. At this point, the project foresees reaching a total of 247 kilometres of cycle ways in the whole of the province of Malaga, so you will be able to travel to different towns, planning your own cycling tourism routes.
You can travel around Malaga at your leisure by horse and carriage. These trips last 45 minutes and travel around the old quarter of Malaga, visiting emblematic spots, such as the Bullring, Paseo de Reding, Paseo Marítimo or the Plaza de la Merced.
Another way of getting around Malaga in an environmentally friendly and fun way is by Seg-way or bicycle-taxi. Innovative companies offer various routes around Malaga or adapt to the traveller’s wishes and create customised routes.
