Júzcar, un pueblo lleno de fantasía

Júzcar, fantasy in the Smurf Village

Share

We spent the morning following the Las Eras trail, which you access from Cartajima. We started the walk from the Las Eras pass, where we left out car, and followed the path that takes you through the Los Riscos area. During the walk, we saw how rock erosion had carved strange figures such as Los Riscos Eagle - recognised as a Unique Spot by the Provincial Council of Málaga - and The Camel. The route took about an hour to complete, and afterwards we headed to the village of Juzcar, also known as the "Smurf village".

We started our walk around Júzcar from the Ríachuelo stream. The blue houses amongst the chestnut forests showed a unique fairytale landscape.  We went up to the Torrichela viewpoint via Calle Virgen de Moclón, and from where we had a stunning panorama. We then went down towards the Parish Church of Santa Catalina until we came back to where we'd started.
