"Trazos de Pasión" (Strokes of Passion)

Share

Within the wide range of topics in the brotherhood culture, this lecture explores the curious facts of sacred art. Castellanos Guerrero is one of the most influential figures in the field of brotherhood and Easter traditions. The Real Hermandad Sacramental de la Pasión (Royal Sacramental Brotherhood of the Passion) invited Mr Castellanos to join them in their 25th anniversary, being as he is closely related to the development of this brotherhood, to which he donated several works.

Jesús Alberto Castellanos Guerrero is a professor of History of Medicine at the University of Málaga, the director of the Brotherhood Museum in Málaga and the Secretary of the Dolores del Puente Brotherhood. An artist and designer, he is a member of the Málaga Brotherhood Society and an expert in Easter traditions in Andalusia. He has designed a great number of procession items for Andalusian brotherhoods, or ‘cofradías’ in Spanish, including the Nuestro Padre Jesús de Pasión float for Fuengirola.
