Las Cañas Beach has a family-friendly atmosphere. The dark sand stretches along a kilometre of coastline and has an average width of 10 metres. It's very close to the Cabopino Marina. Another of the great attractions of Las Cañas Beach is the Lance de las Cañas Tower, an old watchtower and defence complex that protected many on the Andalusian coasts from sea invasions, erected in the times of Carlos III. The image of this tower is a distinctive feature of this beach and its whimsical silhouette by the shore is reminiscent of the classic sandcastles we used to build when we were kids.
