Chapel of Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria
The hermitage of the sanctuary is an convent of the Santísima Virgen de la Candelaria (Holy Virgin of Candelaria, the patron saint of the village), sits on the highest point in the village. It was built in the seventeenth century and was later modified several times. It has a single nave and a quadrangular presbytery with a vault decorated with gypsum artwork that is inspired by the Mannerist style but is of decidedly popular execution. The patron saint of the municipality is in the “camarín” (niche behind the altar).
