George Benson

Connecting with the audience is one of George Benson’s distinctive qualities. An artist who as a child played the guitar, sang and danced in the nightclubs of Pittsburgh and who at a very young age realised that he needed the warmth of the audience to keep playing... Yet best of all, this virtue came hand in hand with a very unique guitarist. Hence, from the realms of jazz, his career gradually expanded into all sorts of other genres: soul, blues, pop, and of course, swing.

In 2009, the legendary singer and guitarist George Benson went back into the studios to produce his “Songs and Stories” album. And ever since he has continued to amaze us all with his versatility in moving between the different music genres. After five decades and more than 70 album productions, George Benson is back to delight the audience once again, at the Starlite Festival.
