Guadalhorce Club de Golf

Description

Designed by the Finish architect Kosti Kuronnen, Guadalhorce, a par 72, is considered a long course with its 6194 metres. The first nine holes are laid out over gentle slopes and valleys which can be easily tackled on foot, even on the hottest summer days. The whole of the course is surrounded by trees both autochthonous and cultivated and the second nine holes are dotted with various lakes. One of its most characteristic holes is the 354-metre 6thwhich has an elevated and treacherously undulating green, though it can still be reached quite easily in 2. Quite another story, however, is the 8th hole, a par-4 and handicap 2, which not only measures 429 metres but also shares the complicated 6th hole green, thus making arriving in 2 strokes on this hole quite a challenge.

The Club also has a 9-hole practice green, ideal for children and beginners, a two charming rest areas by holes 7 and 9.

Miguel Ángel Jiménez has designed in your Club a new course that you can now enjoy at low prices that never before has a private club been able to offer.  There are new large attractively designed greens with some borrows difficult to read.  The Clubhouse is a classic Andalusian country house built at the end of the 18th century and is very different from modern and conventional Clubs.

Club history

Guadalhorce Golf Club was an initiative of a group of friends and golfers that met with the objective to create a completely private club.  The idea was realised using some formidable land to the north of the airport that included a typical 18th century house now transformed into the Clubhouse.  Guadalhorce Golf Club was inaugurated in 1989.  Today it is possible to play this magnificent course in the morning although the Committee has permitted non-members to play at certain times.  Enjoy our course and take advantage of the unique opportunity to play at a private Club.
