Holy Week in Campillos 2018

A total of 10 thrones (floats) will form part of the procession in Campillos during Holy Week, two for each of the 'cofradías' (Brotherhoods) all of which following the Malacitano throne.

One of the peculiarities of Holy Week in Campillos is that on the second last Sunday of Lent, Friday of Sorrows, Easter Sunday and Ash Wednesday a group of brothers called 'fee solicitors' walk through the streets of the town to raise money.

If you're up for being present at these great processions, you'll witness a series of elements integrated into the courtship which have a great anthropological value and that clearly have numerous differences compared to the rest of the other celebrations that take place in the province.

Holy Week in Campillos is special. On those days, Campillos's exquisite cuisine is reduced to food that is barely consumed throughout the rest of the year, especially cod, basic food for the event.
