Jaime Pimentel, 50th Anniversary Niña of Benalmádena
- 26 Jan 2018 - 10 Jun 2018
Exhibit that travels through time on this amazing sculptor's artistic route presenting a magnificent selection of 70 works of art. Born in Malaga, he studied engineering and music although drawing and sculpting became his real vocation. In his youth he travelled to Norway where he settled, working as an interior designer with the architects A. Arneberg & F.S. Platou and became disciple of the sculptors Anne Grimdalen & Per Ung. In Finland he visited Alvar Aalto's studio. Later on he continued studying at Gustav Vigeland in Norway and at Milles in Sweden, then finishing his studies in the USA.
That's how his path as a sculptor began, putting together his first exhibit in the Nacional Library of Madrid in 1961. Since 1968, Benalmádena proudly shows one of his most emblematic works of art, ‘La niña’ (The girl), which warmly welcomes those who visit us and has been a clear icon of the city for over 50 years.
