In the Holy Week in Carratraca the most relevant event is the representation of the Passion, a cultural event in which the whole town becomes one to represent the Passion, Death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. This tradition has been going on since 1963 and the main stage is the town's bull ring. The procession of the Virgen of Sorrows and Crucified Jesus is the only one that takes place in Carrataca on those dates.

For many of the visitors it's curious to see how the crucified Jesus is being taken only by woman whilst the Virgen is being taken by men.

It sets off from the town's church and takes place on Holy Friday at 9pm. It goes through the streets of the town till it reaches Plaza de la Constitución, where Jesus is placed in the most spectacular way next to the Virgen, this being the most moving moment in the whole procession.
