Descalzos Viejos The winery was founded with the restoration of the chapel of the Convent of S. Trinity XVI of the same name, where are the processing area and the barrel room. The contrast of the walls of the "church" with tanks and barrels holds a special magic that permeates the environment.
The winery has 6.00 hectares of vineyards cultivated hillside own red grape varieties (cabernet sauvignon, syrah, grenache, merlot and petit verdot), located beneath the cornice of the Tajo de Ronda (650 m. high) and 1 Ha for making white wine (chardonnay).
Restoration work began in 2001 and has been recovered from the frescoes of the sanctuary that dominates the room. The 15.5 ha farm is located in a setting of great beauty on the ledge of the famous Tajo de Ronda, protected from north winds. Inside the complex is completed by the convent garden garden terraces resolved at the time and water birth. This work has been honored in 2007 with the Honorable Mention Award for Architecture Malaga in their mode of restoration, as well as special recognition in the M-Capital VIII Mediterranean Culture Award 2007.
