Casa Museo in Mijas showcases the daily life of the town’s ancestors through a collection comprising utensils, spaces and tools that were used on a daily basis. Work started on the museum in 1994, though it wasn’t until 1996 that it opened its doors to the public. Housed in the former Mijas town hall, the museum’s aim is to promote and value the municipality’s history. Inside, you can visit different spaces, namely the country room, the mountain room, oil mills, a winery, bakery, carpentry workshop, loom, a traditional country house and Manuel Cortés Quero room, a replica of the bedroom where El Topo de Mijas hid. There is also a patio, a screening room and a temporary exhibition space.
