Museo del Bandolero

Share

Museo del Bandolero tells the story of brigandage in the Andalusian mountains from the 19th to the early 20th century.

The collection is located in the mountains in the municipality of Ronda, where the dense peaks made it the epicentre of the phenomenon in the area.

The museum has 5 rooms entitled Romantic travellers and documentation, Living brigandage, Famous brigands, Weapons and written testimonies, The people who followed the footsteps of the “Civil Guard” and The men and the names.

Over 1,300 objects including weapons, documents, images, lithographs, extracts from the press, clay objects, oil paintings, watercolours, comics, films and more tell the story of the brigands, travellers, contrabands and the Civil Guard in Andalusian villages.

You can also see the outfits worn by Álvaro de Luna and his character “El Algarrobo” in the Curro Jiménez television series that were donated to the museum.
