El Salón beach is located in the centre of Nerja. On the right you can visit the famous Balcón de Europa and enjoy a breathtaking view of the Nerja horizon.
Frequented by a majority of domestic tourists who tend to describe it as cozy, it has a high occupancy in the summer.
With a length of 200 meters and a width of 20 meters on average, depending on the tide, El Salón beach has medium grain dark sand and clean and calm waters.
Every August 14 the “Fiesta Blanca” or White Feast is celebrated to which tourists and locals of all ages come ready to party and dressed in white. The area is decorated with torches that create a magic atmosphere. Music and live entertainment ensure you enjoy a great night. In addition, there are many bars selling drinks and cocktails.
This beach has a quaint characteristic, it has a beach library service, where you can borrow a book to read while you enjoy your day as long as you provide a valid ID. There are books in different languages such as English, German, French or Italian. You can donate your book when you finish your holiday. This service also exists on the beaches of Burriana and El Salón.
