Casarabonela celebrates Holy Week with a multitude of events between 31 March and 9 April. On Viernes de Dolores (Friday of Sorrows) there’s Santa Misa in honour of the Virgen de los Dolores, and on Palm Sunday typical Mass and Blessing of the Palms take place, followed by a sombre procession. See La Pasión spectacle in Santiago Apóstol church in Casarabonela, a live reenactment with surprising performances and staging that is both classic and innovative at the same time. On Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter Sunday there’ll be more processions followed with devotion and passion by locals.
