Holy Week in Álora is from the 1 to 9 of April and includes several processions in which the six confraternities from the area head to the streets with their religious floats and traditional attire. On Sábado de Pasión (Saturday) it’s the turn of the Jesús Atado a la Columna confraternity whose religious procession starts and ends in the Baja plaza. On Palm Sunday confraternity Nuestro Señor Padre Jesús Orando en el Huerto set off from Calvario walking through Álora, and the same procession takes place on Easter Sunday but with confraternity Santísimo Cristo Resucitado. Don’t miss the Entrada de Bandas (marching bands) nor the bugle playing march on Maundy Thursday. Álora is ready for your visit during this very special Holy Week.
