Semana Santa de Vélez Málaga 2023

Between the 2 and 9 April, Vélez-Málaga celebrates Holy Week where all the locals and visitors head out to the streets to admire and uphold this ancient religious tradition. This Festival of National Tourist Interest in Spain comprises 19 brotherhoods, each organising at least one procession of their own. There’ll be a total of 27 thrones; large beautifully adorned floats portraying important religious figures that are carried down the streets. What's more, on Easter Sunday morning all the church confraternities will parade the streets in their traditional attire. Make the most of your visit to Vélez-Málaga during Holy Week and check out Santa María La Mayor de la Encarnación church and Nuestra Virgen de los Remedios church; both stunning places of worship.
