Sopa de los siete ramales

On 28 February, coinciding with the Día de Andalucía, the town El Burgo hosts a festival dedicated to the Sopa de los Siete Ramales, an emblematic soup dish from the area. It's origin comes from the seven ingredients used to make it: tomato, pepper, onion, garlic, bread, mint and asparagus. It is made in a similar way to other typical dishes from the region like perota de Álora but with an extra something added by the locals from El Burgo. In the town they prepare thousands of portions to ensure no one goes hungry, locals and visitors included. Join and bring your appetite with you and you certainly won't go hungry.
