The Plaza Ochavada was built during the time when the Baroque style was an architectural and urban trend. You can identify the Baroque characteristics as a decorative element of the design rather than as a means of supporting the structure. Plus, there is a use of abundant curved elements, few lines and straight elements. Above all, the symmetry of Renaissance architecture is incorporated through the symmetric division on eight sides. In 1980, the city of Archidona became a Historic-Artistic Site.
