Villa Romana

Villa Romana

The excavations of the Villa Romana, as well as the historical sources, confirm this site as an important centre for agricultural and fishery production and export, identified with the city of CAVICLUM mentioned in the Antoninus Route. You can visit several rooms distributed around a small atrium with an impluvium, a small pool to collect rainwater. The most crucial moment of the town is from around the 3rd century AD. It is worth noting the importance of the mosaics found in Torrox, both for their particularity and for their excellent state of preservation.

  • Located in an urban area
  • Coastal area

How to get here

Drive into Autovía del Mediterráneo (A-7; N-340). Between Vélez-Málaga and Nerja, the detour to Torrox is clearly signposted. It leads directly into town, with no need to take any other road.
