Bodega Joaquín Fernández

After working with wines in Córdorba, Joaquín Fernández decided to start producing wine in Serranía de Ronda due to the favourable climate and soil conditions. In 2001, he started preparing the land to plant the vines and by 2002 cabernet Sauvignon, syrah, merlot and garnacha varities were bursting from the vines. Later, Fernández expanded the land to plant merlot syrah and garnacha grapes. The winery is located in La Finca Los Frutales, three kilometres from the town of Ronda, sitting in the mountains at 700m altitude. The winery currently has 10 hectares of land and produces 60,000 bottles of wine a year.
