Ardales Cave

Ardales Cave

Share

In the heart of the Guadalteba district lies the Ardales cave, also known as Doña Trinidad Grund cave, one of the five most important caves in the province of Málaga.

During your visit, with a route through the interior of the cave of more than 1.5 km, you can enjoy various galleries as well as permanent lakes, labyrinths of columns and incredible stalagmite formations. It has a high cultural and heritage value as it contains numerous inscriptions and paintings from the Palaeolithic period, making it a real gem of prehistoric cave art and a must-see if you are in the area.

Given its historical and cultural importance, in 2010 the Council of Europe included it in the European Cultural Route for 'Prehistoric Rock Art Trails'.
