Maro-Cerro Gordo Cliffs Beauty Spot
The Maro-Cerro Gordo Cliffs Beauty Spot is a 12-kilometre path running parallel to the coast. The main characteristic of the trail is the breathtaking cliffs that make it easy to find panoramic views of the Mediterranean like the Torre de Maro. Maro-Cerro Gordo houses many plant species that are rare and protected inside Andalusia.
Its marine diversity also stands out, especially the orange coral that’s on the Endangered Species list. When it comes to fish, moray eels and groupers stand out. Snorkelers and scuba divers flock here to enjoy the unique, varied marine life. It’s no wonder that the United Nations declared this nature reserve a Specially Protected Areas of Mediterranean Importance (SPAMI).
