Pinsapo de la Escalereta is a large tree that is part of the Spanish fir family (Abies Pinsapo Bois). It is located on the edges of the Spanish fir wood on Cerro Alcojona. The tree gets its name from the position of the slabs of limestone that look like stairs (escalera in Spanish).
The tree has survived for some 350-550 years thanks to the excellent weather conditions in the area, where there is frequent rainfall. The tree has a circumference of 5.1m and a diameter of 1.62m.
