Montes de Málaga Natural Park
The Montes de Málaga became a protected natural space in 1989 and has a large volume of hydrological resources as it is in the Guadalmedina river basin. This territory was the origin of multiple floods that Málaga experienced until the 20th century, leading to the construction of the Agujero reservoir and the forest-water repopulations of pine forests on the river basin to solve the problem.
It has enormous tree vegetation and beautiful views with the sea in the background. Visitors to the mountains tend to go hiking or cycle. Some numerous trails and routes allow you to connect with nature and enjoy the resources it has to offer. People call this park Málaga's lung because of the lush trees that let you rest along the trails.
