This is a diversion dam built to capture and transport to the reservoir of La Concepción in Marbella Green River, the river water input Guadaiza through the corresponding lines of the tunnel, which is achieved by an increase of about 60% of contributions to the reservoir on the Verde river's own contribution.
Its basin covers an area of ??49 km2 and an average contribution of 18 hm3./year decanted. The gravity plant is straight, has a height above ground of 21 meters and a length of 137 meters crown.
