These mountains, part of the Baetic System along with the Sierra de Gibalto, are the most important in Villanueva del Trabuco. The peaks range between 1,200 and 1,400 metres and their overall limestone landscape stands out among the many sites within the mountains, including wheat orchards and olive groves. You can admire the births of the La Chocilla, La Pita, Borreguero and Canelas peaks in the Sierra Gorda. At the same time, in Sierra de San Jorge we find the well-known source of the Cien Caños (despite having one hundred and one) and Cerro Tello, whose most striking feature is its height, which is the highest of all the mountains in town.
