Chestnut Festival
The town of Pujerra, in the Serranía de Ronda mountains set against a stunning natural backdrop, is celebrating a festival at the start of November dedicated to the gastronomic symbol of this area, the chestnut.
Once all the chestnuts have been harvested it is time to celebrate the traditional Chestnut Festival, coinciding with the festivities held in honour of the town"s patron saint, Our Lady of Fatima.
The inhabitants of this town take this opportunity to prepare traditional tostones (roasted chestnuts), served with the famous sweet wine mistela, and to pay tribute to this traditional ingredient in Malaga cuisine. Various culinary delights made using chestnuts will also be served to visitors.
