Festival of Moors and Christians.
The Festival of Moors and Christians is a re-enactment of historical events in improvised settings. It recreates the Mudéjar riot in Sierra Bermeja in 1501. The re-enactment is a short play in verse telling the story of a fight between Muslim and Christian troops to get hold of an image of St Isidore. Deeply rooted in popular traditions, the Festival gets everyone involved in Benadalid, on the occasion of the feast of the local patron, St Isidore.
