Before visiting Genalguacil, we spent the morning touring some of the landscapes of stage 28 of the Gran Senda de Málaga that runs from Genalguacil to Casares. This section runs embedded in the northern foothills of the Reales de Sierra Bermeja and Sierra Crestellina, surrounded by a varied vegetation.
In the evening, we began our walk around Genalguacil from Calle la Lomilla, where we were able to enjoy stunning views of the chestnut groves in autumn. As we walked on, we came across several corners and streets with surprising and original works of art, making this village a museum in its own right.
We then took a break to visit the Museum of Contemporary Art. Here we could look at works by artists who take part in the village's famous Art Encounters, which take place every two years in August.
Lastly, we headed for the La Lomilla Viewpoint and the Church of San Pedro de Varona. We continued along calle Estación, where we saw new sculptures, up to calle Real, which brought us to the edge of the village where we started.
