The town of Parauta is celebrating its traditional Rabbit Festival.
This town in the Serranía de Ronda mountains keeps its culinary traditions alive, bring this sense to life with this festival.
Rabbit is one of those typical products that in days gone by were a fundamental ingredient in local gastronomy, and which is still part of the local diet. Rice, rabbit, and verdial flamenco are the main ingredients that residents of this town like to mix together to celebrate this festivity, cooked every year in a different way but always respecting the traditional cuisine of the municipality.
The inhabitants of this town prepare dishes that are handed out free of charge during the celebration, which also features popular celebrations, verdial and flamenco performances, and traditional confectionary and desserts to sample.

How to get here

From any point on the Costa del Sol go to San Pedro de Alcántara via the AP-7 (N-340) and there take the A-376 road towards Ronda. About 10 kilometres short of that city, turn onto the A-519, which leads to Parauta.
