The Cala El Cañuelo beach is one of Nerja’s most hidden beach. Right on the border between Málaga and Granada provinces, it’s in the Acantilados de Maro - Cerro Gordo Nature Reserve that stands out for its drastic, breathtaking cliffs. Its location isolates it off in a way that makes it hard to get there, so we recommend you wear comfortable shoes to get there. In the summer, given the difficulty of getting there, there’s a minibus service that stops reasonably frequently to get you there. It aims to help families with small children, older people and those with a disability.
Thanks to it not being crowded, it has crystal clear waters. The water, along with the presence of rocks and cliffs, makes it an ideal place to snorkel or scuba dive. The seafloor has orange coral, an endangered specie.
